(Rome) Police in Germany and Italy have arrested over 170 people connected to the 'ndrangheta's Farao-Marincola clan on charges of running a huge mob-controlled commercial
and political empire involving everything from bread and wine sales to funeral
services, migrant housing and garbage recycling.
Across Italy 160 people have been detained by Italian authorities who said they also seized some €50 million ($60 million) worth of property. The list of charges facing the suspects in Italy ranges from attempted murder to illegal possession of firearms to illegal waste transportation.
