(Dewsbury) Anti-terror police have carried out a search of two houses in the Islamic enclave of Saville town in West Yorkshire arresting 2 men in the process . The men aged 52 and 21 have been arrested by
Counter Terrorism Policing North East on suspicion of being concerned in the
commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under section 41 of
the Terrorism Act 2000. Both remain in custody at this time for questioning.
A number of high-profile Islamist extremists have come from Savile Town. Three of the four suicide bombers who carried out the 7 July 2005 London bombings including their leader, Mohammad Sidique Khan lived here. It was also the home of Britain's youngest convicted Islamist extremist, Hamaad Munshi, and Britain's youngest suicide bomber, Talha Asmal.
