(Damascus) A Russian SU-25 ground-attack aircraft has been shot down in
a rebel-held area in Syria's north-western province of Idlib. Roman Fillipov the
pilot managed to eject however he landed into an area controlled by the jihadist
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham alliance and he was killed after a brief gunfight.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham said it had shot down the plane. In response the Russians hit the area with a saturation cruise missile attack.
