Pakistani paramilitary Rangers killed three terrorists in an
encounter in Lyari area of Karachi on Thursday. According to Rangers spokesman,
the Rangers on an intelligence report launched a search operation in Tughlaq
Lane area of Chakiwara which led to a shootout with terrorists hiding in the
locality. The spokesman said that three members of an outlawed group were
killed in the gun battle. The slain militants were identified as Khan Darwesh,
Arshad Khan and Habib.
A police official was killed in the provincial capital on
Thursday when suspected militants detonated an Improvised Explosive Device
(IED). “Unknown miscreants planted a bomb at a roadside in the jurisdiction of
Faqirabad police station,” said police officials.
Gunmen shot dead four paramilitary officials in Pakistan's
western city of Quetta on Wednesday, police said, a day after four policemen
were killed in a region that is to host a $46 billion China-Pakistan economic
corridor.
