ISIS ‘loses 2,500 fighters’ in battle for Fallujah
Iraqi troops are continuing to battle ISIS terrorists in
pockets of the city of Fallujah, days after the government declared the centre
had been liberated. At the same time Iraq’s elite military force – the counter
terrorism service (CTS) – says the joint offensive in Falluja has killed over
2,500 militants.
Minus the 500 I have already listed, this comes out as 2000 to be added to the count.
A ISIS sniper shot the squad commander of the Iraqi First
Commando Regiment of Anbar Operations Command- Lieutenant Colonel Abbas
Abdul-Reda- during the advance of the security forces in the operations to
liberate Zankoura, north of Ramadi. He died on the spot immediately.
Dijla Operations Command announced the deaths of
five 5 ISIS members during operations carried out by the Iraqi army in Diyali
province.
Unidentified gunmen open fired, before noon today, at a
checkpoint of the Sunni Awakening movement (al-Sahwa) in Arab Jabour village in
al-Dawra area, south of Baghdad and resulting in two of its members been killed and five others injured.
