IDF strikes 2 Syrian military targets following cross-border stray fire

The IDF struck two Syrian Assad regime military targets on Sunday, it announced on Monday, in response to stray Syrian fire that hit an area adjacent to the northern security border fence.

Although the Syrian fire did not endanger local residents or security forces, the IDF is "determined to respond to any unusual incident," it said in a statement.

The military noted that it did not seek to engage in fighting in the Syrian civil war. The IDF has previously retaliated against errant fire originating from Syria.
