Turkish nationalist: Beating Koreans or Chinese "doesn’t matter as both have slanted eyes”

(Ankara) This blog wrote the other day about how Turks unhappy about the Chinese treatment of (Chinese) Uighur Muslims have taken to attacking anybody who looks Chinese, resulting in attacks on Koreans.

Well, when Devlet Bahçeli the leader of the Nationalist Movement party gave an interview to daily Hürriyet, in an attempt to play down the recent ultranationalist attacks on Asian tourists, he came out with:
“These are young people.”
Ok, I take it that the young are more easily inflamed with anger in Islamic countries, but he didn’t help his cause one bit when he followed that up with this:
“Moreover, what is the difference between a Korean and a Chinese? They both have slanted eyes.”
Of course, as a true Turk, Bahçeli would have no problem playing the race card if he got stopped by the police in the West. Yet here he is still in his job, inciting hatred towards others. Wanker.
