ISIS claims rocket attack on Egypt navy boat in Mediterranean Sea

(Egypt) Islamic terrorists opened up a new dimension in their attacks on Egypt when they launched a anti-tank missile at an Egyptian patrol boat off the coast of Northern Sinai. The missile struck the boat, which caused the boat to catch fire. No casualty figures have been released.

The missile (highlighted) just before it strikes.
The strike.
The aftermath.

The ship that was hit appears to have been an Egyptian coastguard SWIFTSHIPS’ 28 Meter FastPatrol Craft, of which the Egyptians operate 9. Here is what the craft looks like:

And here is what the front of the burning vessel looks like:

There appears to be a 30mm gun on the front of this one, so the boat in question may actually look like this:

But whatever the variant, it does look like a US made Swiftship.

Police: 43 British Muslim women and girls are in Syria "for jihadist reasons"

Sisters Sugra, Zohra and Khadija Dawood: Took their children to Syria in June
(BBC) UK counter-terrorism chiefs say 43 UK women and girls are believed to have travelled to Syria in the past year.

The Metropolitan Police figures are the first official count of British women thought to be in the warzone.

Security officials believe up to 700 people have gone to Syria to become involved in jihadist groups and about half have returned.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball said women who travelled might never be able to return home.

Women who travel to Syria for jihadist reasons cannot get involved directly in fighting. They are regularly married off to fighters.

More than 60 British jihadis have been killed after travelling to Syria and Iraq to fight with Islamic State

(The Telegraph) MORE than 60 Britons have died while fighting for Islamic terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

The figure, confirmed by government sources, is twice that reported last year and suggests a sharp increase in the rate of British fighters killed in the service of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Experts say the new death toll means that nearly one in 10 of the estimated 700 British jihadists who have gone to Syria has been killed or has killed themselves in suicide attacks since the conflict started drawing in British foreign fighters in 2012. The identities of many of those killed have emerged in social media reports emanating from Isil.

US Will Teach Iran to Thwart Israeli Nuke Threats

(WFB) The United States and other world powers will help to teach Iran how to thwart and detect threats to its nuclear program, according to the parameters of a deal reached Tuesday to rein in Iran’s contested nuclear program.

Under the terms of a deal that provides Iran billions of dollars in sanctions relief, Iran and global powers will cooperate to help teach Iran how to manage its nuclear infrastructure, which will largely remain in tact under the deal.

Senior Iranian officials, including the country’s president, celebrated the deal as a victory for the country. Iran’s state controlled media quoted President Hassan Rouhani as saying that the deal will “remove all sanctions while maintaining [Tehran’s] nuclear program and nuclear progress.”

In what is being viewed as a new development, European countries and potentially the United States agreed to “cooperate with Iran on the implementation of nuclear security guidelines and best practices,” according to a copy of the agreement furnished by both the Russians and Iranians.

This will include “training courses and workshops to strengthen Iran’s ability to prevent, protect and respond to nuclear security threats to nuclear facilities and systems as well as to enable effective and sustainable nuclear security and physical protection systems,” according to the text.

Additional “training and workshops” would work to “strengthen Iran’s ability to protect against, and respond to nuclear security threats, including sabotage, as well as to enable effective and sustainable nuclear security and physical protection systems,” the text states.

The language was viewed as disturbing by analysts and experts who said such cooperation could help protect Iran against efforts by the Israelis or other countries to sabotage the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in the future.

“The United States and its partners have just become the international protectors of the Iranian nuclear program. Instead of rolling back the Iranian nuclear program, we’re now legally obligated to help the Iranians build it up and protect it,” said one Western source present in Vienna and who is apprised of the details of the deal.

Son of Boston Police capt. charged in connection with ISIS terrorism plot

Developing story.
BOSTON (WHDH) - A man from Adams has been arrested and charged in connection with a plot to engage in terrorism on behalf of ISIS.

Alexander Ciccolo, 23, was charged with being a felon in possession of firearms. The criminal complaint was unsealed on Monday.

Ciccolo is the son of Boston Police Captain Robert Ciccolo, who was one of the first responders to the Boston Marathon bombing. Capt. Ciccolo is in charge of the Boston Police Department's 911 call center. He has served with the department for more than 25 years.

According to the complaint affidavit, Alexander Ciccolo took delivery of four firearms on July 4, 2015, which he had ordered from a person who was cooperating with members of the Western Massachusetts Joint Terrorism Task Force. Ciccolo was arrested immediately after taking delivery of the firearms, which included a Glock 17-9mm pistol and a Glock 20-10 mm pistol.

Ciccolo had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by more than a year in jail and was prohibited from possessing firearms.

It is alleged that Ciccolo is a supporter of the Islamic State group. According to an affidavit, Ciccolo spoke with a cooperating witness in recorded conversations about his plans to commit acts of terrorism inspired by ISIS -- including setting off improvised explosive devices such as pressure cookers filled with black powder, nails, ball bearings and glass -- in places where large numbers of people were gather, such as college cafeterias.

The FBI arranged for the cooperating witness to meet Ciccolo, who told the witness he had a plan to engage in domestic terrorism operations. The witness agreed to participate with Ciccolo.

On June 24, 2015, Ciccolo met with the cooperating witness in person in Pittsfield. The meeting was audio recorded. During the meeting, Ciccolo spoke about his plans to travel to another state to conduct terrorist attacks on civilians, members of the US military and law enforcement personnel.

Ciccolo told the cooperating witness he would attack two different bars and a police station. He also stated he planned to use improvide explosive devices during the attack to include pressure cooker bombs and/or portable microwave bombs.

On June 30, 2015, Ciccolo had another meeting with the cooperating witness in Springfield, which was also audio-recorded. Ciccolo discussed his plan to conduct an attack in another state. He described a list of items, including four AK-47s, two sniper rifles, four handguns and improvised grenades.

During the same meeting, Ciccolo explained he had changed his plans from targeting a police station to targeting a university, because there were more people at the university. He said he wanted to conduct the attack before Ramadan was over, and no later than July 31.

Ciccolo said he intended to place a few explosives on campus before the attack and would plan to attack the cafeteria at lunchtime. He said he wanted to use pressure cookers to make a big explosion. He also said he was inspired by the Boston Marathon bombing, using the same materials and emptying fireworks into a pressure cooker.

The FBI affidavit says Ciccolo said he would execute students and broadcast the executions on the internet.

Agents also allegedly found several partially constructed Molotov cocktails in Ciccolo's apartment.

On Monday, the Ciccolo family released a statement:

“While we were saddened and disappointed to learn of our son’s intentions, we are grateful that authorities were able to prevent any loss of life or harm to others. At this time, we would ask that the public and the media recognize our grief and respect our desire for privacy.”

A detention hearing has been scheduled for July 14 at 3:30 p.m. in U.S. District Court in Springfield.

#RealIslam: ISIS Blows Up Baby in Training Class Demo

(Clarion Project) In one of its cruelest acts to date, Islamic State reportedly blew up a baby to show members how to handle explosives.

The incredible incident took place in Diyala Province on July 10, according to provincial Security Committee Chairman Sadiq el-Husseini. He detailed the event to the local Arabic-language A-Sumeriah News.

The baby’s father was apparently executed just weeks ago, after he allegedly took part in the killing of an Islamic State member.

“The organization booby trapped the baby in front of dozens of armed ISIS men and then detonated it from afar,” Sadiq el-Husseini said. The rigging of the baby and its detonation was a training exercise of ISIS to teach its people booby-trapping techniques.

“The organization doesn’t care about the most basic human values. Their crimes are incalculable and the blowing up of the baby is the best proof to the threat of ISIS’ ideology to the state.”
