Kurdistan: Jihadi Brides by the thousands with nowhere to go

With the collapse of ISIS, thousands of their non-Middle Eastern followers have been captured by the Kurds. Due to so many they are trying to get their former home countries to take them in, naturally they have been reticent to do so and so the brides of ISIS are left in limbo under the auspices of the Kurds. France 24  has knocked out a short video in one of the camps and what surprised me, is how all these women who claim they were duped , that their husbands were ISIS, but medics and that they didn't subscribe to the ISIS way of life, still cover up head to toe in a way they say isn't them. Really?

What I found really revealing was the reaction when the interviewer asks the French woman (with glasses and face mask) who her husband is , after she stated he sent her to Syria and remained inside France. Do they really think we are that stupid and gullible.

Iraq: Kurdish civilians burn down Turkish base in protest at air strikes.

(Dohuk) At least one protester has died, with another 10 people wounded on Saturday after protesters demonstrating over a recent Turkish air raid, and stormed a Turkish military base in the town in Iraq’s northern province of Duhok, burning two tanks and other vehicles in the process.

After launching military operations against the Kurds inside Syria, in 2018, Turkey extended its military presence inside northern Iraq with the construction of permanent outposts, Problem is, the local population are all Kurds and like all occupying forces, there is only so much before the plebs fight back. Naturally the Turks aren't happy . with the Defence Ministry condemning the attack by blaming the PKK (whom the Turks have decided to start a war with)
"An attack has occurred on one of bases located in northern Iraq as a result of provocation by the PKK terrorist organization. There was partial damage to vehicles and equipment during the attack,"
In support of their occupying army, the Turks have flown fighter jets over the base.

The thing is, its inside Iraq and I don't think Baghdad which has demanded that Turkey removes its bases will be too happy at the provocation.

Syria: Turkish propaganda explains their slow progress against the kurds

(Ankara)  As I mentioned yesterday, despite being much bigger, stronger and better armed, the Turks are finding out the hard way that the Kurds are going to make them pay for every foot of land they take in their mission to remove the Kurds from Northern Syria (Where they have lived for thousands of years)

As you can see from the above video clip, the Kurds are hitting back, add the mountainous terrain and the Turkish hopes of a Blitzkrieg have ground down virtually to a halt. Which is why the Turkish Government dragged out Ali Erbaş head of Religious Affairs Directorate to explain why:
“Our Muslims soldiers are undertaking their fight in line with Islam’s principles. That is why they are moving slowly in Afrin. They are moving with the conscience of not causing even one person’s nose to bleed; after all, this is Islam’s order,”
Then he decided to explain the righteousness of the current invasion of Syria by comparing it with the Ottoman Empire which oppressed millions:
“All our conquests in history were undertaken to prevent oppression. Our soldiers fire their bullets against oppressors, to protect those oppressed. Our soldiers are clashing for this, because there are terror organizations there, and they are constantly oppressing,”
Wow looking at the map below the Turks sure went out of their way over the years to root out Terrorists.

Video: Kurds shoot down Turkish Helicopter gunship.

(Afrin)  The Turks when they invaded the eastern Kurdish enclave inside Syria last month, didn't seem to realise why ISIS at the height of its power never managed to take it.

Picture taken from Le Beck
Well after a couple of weeks of poor going against a lightly armed Kurdish militia they must be feeling how the Chinese felt in 1979 when they presumed that invading Vietnam would be easy.  As in Vietnam the terrain is mountainous and the people who live there (the Kurds) are a hardy people used to fighting , which is why the Turks have made every little inroads into the area by foot, however they do control the air, which they are using to their advantage. One of their primary weapons is the  TAI/AgustaWestland T129 ATAK  which is a  multi-role, all-weather attack helicopter based on the Italian Agusta A129 Mangusta which for some reason looks exactly the same:

The thing is, whilst the T-129 is pretty good, a lot of its advantages are kind of offset by flying between mountains where the enemy can take potshots at you from above and the side. Which appears to be what has happened this morning when the Kurds shot down one of a pair of patrolling T-129s:
Speaking in Istanbul this morning, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that such losses were expected during times of war. He also warned those who shot down the Helicopter that they would  surely pay a heavy price for it.
"We might lose one helicopter, but they will pay a much heavier price."

UK: 4 illegal Kurdish Migrants jailed for child rape

(Newcastle)  In a scene which is becoming far too common. 4 illegal immigrants have been jailed for  sexually exploiting vulnerable girls as young as 13. The four men, all asylum seekers  from Iran and Iraq who entered the UK illegally, targeted vulnerable teenage girls, holding them in thrall with a constant supply of drink and drugs.

These Islamic paedophiles would contact the girls on Facebook to discuss sex parties and on one occasion demanded sex in return for paying for a tattoo.

L to R, Palla Pour, Ribas Asad, Soran Azizi and Saman Obaid
The girls, who were aged between 13-16 at the time, were plied with drugs such as cocaine , ecstasy, speed and cannabis.
  • 28 year old Soran Azizi, was convicted of two offences of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
  • 25 year old Palla Pour, was convicted of four offences of sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, supplying controlled drug to another and permitting his premises to be used for the supply of drugs.
  • 29 year old Ribas Asad, was convicted of sexual assault, supplying a controlled drug, causing a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual activity with a child.
  • 29 year old Saman Obaid, was convicted of four offences of supplying controlled drugs.
As they are not British citizens, they are likely to be deported once they have served their prison sentences. Lawyers for the men said they feared going back to their home countries.

Iraq: Iraqi Troops backed by Iranian Shia Milita march against Kurds in Kirkuk

(Kirkuk) In a story line resembling something out of the TV show ‘Game of Thrones’.  Iraq has sent in the army to retake the city of Kirkuk from the Kurds.  Both sides having fought for years against Islamic state, have now decided to face off against each other.

To be honest, the Kurds have over stretched themselves and don’t have the luxury of the Zagros Mountain range which has protected them for years.  Add the fact that with provincial and national parliamentary elections to be held early next year, anybody who is seen to be going soft on a land grab by the Kurds  especially after years of fighting against ISIS won’t be winning many prizes.  Plus with neither Turkey, Syria or even Iran supporting the case for a breakaway Kurdish state, the best thing the Kurds should do is back off and keep the death toll to a bare minimum. That said , mass Kurdish deaths at the hands of the Iraqi army would give the Kurds the very excuse they require in which to cede from Baghdad. And you thought the plot in GOT was complicated.

Turkey: State run news agency 'Anadolu' reveals US base locations inside Syria.

(Ankara)  In a move that exemplifies the Islamic penchant for stabbing you in the back. Turkey has made public the location of every US base inside Northern Syria. The bases usually kept secret  in which to ensure they don't warrant the attention of those idiots who simply wish to murder death kill were revealed in the state run 'Anadolu'.  The reason for doing so is no doubt the support the US has been giving the Kurds combat ISIS. Turkey does not support any notion of a Homeland for the Kurds, either in Turkey or elsewhere (Iraq/Iran/Syria)  and no doubt isn't happy how the Kurds have been armed in which to take the fight back to ISIS (Something they have excelled at) .  For the Turks this is a step too far and  so as is the way of the Muslim, they have stabbed the US in the back in which to make a political statement.

The Turks have justified their move by claiming that the US is supporting Terrorists, the irony here is there is valid evidence that Turkey openly supported ISIS. Naturally the Pentagon isn’t happy and has issued a press release:
"The release of sensitive military information exposes Coalition forces to unnecessary risk and has the potential to disrupt ongoing operations to defeat ISIS,"
Levent Tok, an Anadolu Agency reporter on the story, told the Bloomberg news service that the information about U.S. troop positions wasn’t leaked by the Turkish government. He said the story was based on field work by Anadolu’s Syria reporters and some of the details on the bases were disclosed on social media by Kurdish fighters. He finished with:
"The U.S. should have thought about this before it cooperated with a terrorist organization,"
With the Turks, acting the same way towards Germany, Saudi Arabia and the EU. It seems that granting Erdoğan dictator like powers  has resulted in Turkey turning away from common sense politics to those of a rouge nation.

Syria: 4-Way Battle Ground

(Syria) To the north of Syria, a 4-way battle is currently taking place between Syria, the Kurds, the Turks and ISIS. The Kurds (yellow) would like to unify their respective areas. The Turks and their minions (green) don't want the Kurds to have their own homeland, so they invaded Syria on the pretext of defending Turkey in which to do just that. ISIS, well, they are simply ISIS (black) and are currently on the backfoot and will fight anybody, including themselves. That leaves Syria (reddish orange) which just wants its country back without other state actors having a say on the matter (that said, they have been using the Kurds to do their work for them in the north).

Mind you, the Turkish Pocket Dictator Erdogan...

... has now stated that he sent his troops into Syria in which to topple Assad. Which is strange as he is currently purging the Turkish military of anybody whose face doesn't fit. Moscow has asked the Nazi fan to explain himself:
"It is a very serious statement and one which differs from previous ones and with our understanding of the situation. We hope that our Turkish partners will provide us with some kind of explanation about this."

Syria: Turks open second front inside Syria. But whom are they targeting, ISIS or the Kurds?

(Kilis) The Turkish army on Saturday opened a second front into Syria by sending in another armoured fist into the country. Strangely enough, this second invasion force just happened to enter the country exactly where the other Kurdish pocket happens to meet ISIS.

Key: FSA = Turkish Militia supported by Turkish Military. SDF = Kurds. DAESH = ISIS

If I didn't know better, I'd say that the Turks aren't happy with the Kurds for kicking ISIS' arse. You know, that ISIS which has been well reported to be supported by Ankara. Then there is the Turkish desire not to allow a Kurdish state to be formed. The irony here is, the Turks are all for a Palestinian homeland (oh look, there's that 'H' word again). It appears the Turks have learnt from their initial expedition against the Kurds, were after losing men and armour to the very capable Kurds, this time they have sent in their much better Israeli improved M60T Sabra tanks which are better protected against ATGMs.

Turkey: 35 Kurdish fighters killed by army

(Ankara) It appears that the Kurds, taking note of the clampdown on the Turkish military by the pPocket dictator in charge, thought it would be a good time in which to launch an attack in which to shout out:
"Hello!"
The only problem was, the Turkish ministry has only been culled of forces which don't fully support the Nazi in chief.

The Kurds' advance was spotted by a UAV and in turn they were attacked from the air before they could start their mission. The result - 35 dead Kurds in the country’s southeastern Hakkari province.

PKK rebels shoot down Turkish helicopter.

(Turkey) The Turks, really let the cat out of the bag when they decided to strike the Kurds rather than ISIS the other month. Which kind of explains this video of the  Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) of a Turkish military helicopter getting shot out of the sky with a Russian 9K38 Igla Anti-aircraft Missile

ISIS lose up to 80 men to kill one US Navy Seal.

(Iraq) Charles Keating a US Navy Seal deployed  to northern Iraq was killed today when ISIS launched a sophisticated mass attack on the Kurdish Peshmerga forces facing this blight on humanity near the town of Tel Asqof, around 28 kilometres (17 miles) from the ISIS stronghold of Mosul.
Using over 100 men, these religious bigots using Vehicle IEDs  and Bulldozers broke through the Peshmerga front line and proceeded to strike the camp, where US troops are based resulting in the death of Mr Keating .

Charles Keating

The U.S. responded with F-15s and drones that dropped more than 20 bombs, according to a U.S. official. However in targeting US troops, over 80 ISIS idiots were killed in an offensive which wasn't even as effective as the Nazi Battle of the Bulge during WW2 (And that was a huge failure).

Turkey's Kurds call for self-rule amid violence in southeast

ANKARA (Reuters) - Kurdish groups meeting in southeastern Turkey called for self-rule on Sunday amid heavy fighting in the region as the army pushed ahead with a security operation in which it says more than 200 Kurdish militants have been killed.

The Democratic People's Congress (DTK), made up of Kurdish non-governmental organizations, made the call after a two-day meeting in Diyarbakir.

"The rightful resistance mounted by our people against the policies that degrade the Kurdish problem, is essentially a demand and struggle for local self-governance and local democracy," said the final resolution of the meeting, titled "declaration of political resolution regarding self-rule".

The declaration called for the formation of autonomous regions including several neighboring provinces of Diyarbakir to take account of cultural, economic and geographic affinities.

The call could escalate tensions between Kurds and the Turkish government as the government adamantly opposes a separate Kurdish state.

President Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech late on Saturday that Turkey would never allow the formation of another state within its borders.

"Now they are talking about separating our land in this country. With God's permission, we will never allow a surgery on the unity of our country," he said.

Jewish Kurds hold groundbreaking Iraq commemoration

(INN) A ceremony marking the deportation of Jews from Iraq seven decades ago was held for the first time on Monday in the country's autonomous Kurdish region.

It also marked the beginning of Jewish representation in the Kurdistan region's religious affairs ministry as a result of a law passed in May to promote minority rights.

"The law says that if there was one person from the followers of any religion, his rights are preserved," said Sherzad Omar Mamsani, the Jewish representative at the Kurdish regional ministry.

The ceremony in Kurdistan capital Arbil was attended by Kurds of Jewish origin and officials who also visited an exhibition of old photographs and records documenting Iraqi Jewry.

According to Mamsani, the ceremony is the first of its kind and marks what is known as the "Farhud", the bloody, Nazi-inspire Arab pogrom that led to the flight and deportation of Jews from Iraq.

Mamsani, who has Jewish origins, said he estimated that the families who self-identify as Jews in Kurdistan but are still officially registered as Muslims numbered around 400.

He added that the number of families who converted to Islam but "are Jews in origin" was in the thousands.

Zach Huff, an American researcher living in Israel and specializing in Kurdish affairs, said he hoped Monday's ceremony was the start of a Jewish revival in the Iraqi region of Kurdistan.

"There are about 200,000 Kurds living in Israel and close to 100,000 living in and around Jerusalem," he told AFP referring to Jews whose ancestors made aliyah to Israel from Kurdistan.

"They do actually long to connect with their roots in Kurdistan even if they're second or third generation," Huff said. "They see that Kurdistan is open and welcoming them with open arms."

"I do predict that there will be a lot more business, tourism and a closer relationship in the near future between Jewish Kurds and the people of Kurdistan," he said.

There is no active synagogue in the region but Mamsani has said he hoped that would change soon.
