Niger: Church burnt down after Iman arrested by Government.

(Maradi) Niger is a country in central Africa which is around 99% Islamic. So when the Islamic Government arrested an Iman for berating the Niger Government who do you think his supporters decided to target in which to express their anger. Yup Christians which is why 150 religious bigots descended on the protestant church in the country’s second city and burnt it down.

And I keep getting told that these people subscribe to a religion of peace and understanding.

Niger: Soldiers kill 14 civilians whom they mistook for terrorists

(Niamey) Soldiers in Niger have killed 14 unarmed civilians after mistaking them for Boko Haram terrorists during a patrol in the remote southeast of the country. It appears that Nigerien soldiers were patrolling a militarily restricted zone around the village of Abadam near Lake Chad on Wednesday afternoon when they opened fire on what turned out to be farmers.

Abadam is a village located in the red zone and has been prohibited for a very long time. Any individual seen in the area is considered Boko Haram. Two of the dead were from Niger and the rest from neighbouring Nigeria, where Boko Haram is based and from which the jihadist group has sometimes carried out cross-border attacks into Niger, Cameroon and Chad. This huge mistake happened just days after the Terrorist Group killed 9 people and kidnapped 40 more in a attack on a village about 40 miles away. Which may help explain why the Niger troops had itchy trigger fingers.

Niger and Chad claim to have killed 109 Boko Haram jihadists

That's a start.
Niamey (AFP) - Boko Haram launched its first major attack in Niger on Friday, triggering a forceful response from regional troops who claimed to have killed more than a hundred of the Islamists.

The clashes in Bosso and Diffa, along the border with Nigeria, marked yet another expansion of violence attributed to Boko Haram, but it seemed to have come at a heavy cost.

Niger's defence minister reported that 109 of the Islamists were killed, along with four soldiers and a civilian. Seventeen other troops were wounded.

Chadian forces, who have taken a lead role in battling Boko Haram in recent days, fought alongside Niger troops on Friday. Its commander in Niger, General Yaya Daoud, was also wounded with a gunshot to the stomach, a security source said.

Niger Defence Minister Mahamadou Karidjo said calm had been restored to both areas.
