Switzerland: Selects F35 over French and Eurofighter. Europe isn't happy

(Bern) Switzerland has been in the market for a new fighter for a few years to replace its current fleet of F18 hornets which it purchased during the 1990s and its F5 freedom fighters of 1960s stock 4 aircraft were in the running :

France: Dassault’s Rafale which has of late been very successful across Europe with sales to Greece and Croatia
EU: Airbus Eurofighter (with the offer of all planes to built in Switzerland)
US: Boeing F18 SuperHornet (A more advanced version of the F18 already in service with Switzerland)
US: Lockheed Martin F35 (The only 5th gen aircraft on offer)

Well the Swiss have made their minds up and have selected the F35 and that hasn't gone down well across Europe. France which was hoping to win, even had Macron, telephone the Swiss President. The french speaking population of Switzerland have expressed their displeasure Le temps which also caters to the French Swiss population wrote:
“The decision is a “strategic error” on the part of the defence minister, the purchase of a new fighter jet has to take into account all aspects, including the geostrategic question. On this front, the European models – the French Rafale and the English-Italian-Spanish-German Eurofighter – were clearly the priority. There are even plans to launch a people’s initiative to challenge the decision.”

La Liberté which also caters to the same demographic wrote:

The choice sends a “disastrous signal” to Europe. “Not so much in the sense of trying to heal the tensions after the end of the framework agreement, but rather in terms of investing and projecting in a common future,“A security strategy is crafted together with one’s neighbours; it’s with them that one builds one’s future”.

SonntagsBlick which caters to the German Swiss population published:

A letter from four European defence ministers addressed to Swiss Defence Minister Viola Amherd. According to the paper’s sources,  which talked about cross-border partnerships in various areas including cyber security and infrastructure.

Airbus even made an appeal to the Swiss government to choose a European firm

Bernhard Brenner, Sales Director at Airbus Defence and Space stating that the decision shouldn’t solely be based on military criteria. "The economic and political elements are just as important."

Well now that the Swiss have picked the F35, there is talk that this decision will effect Swiss and EU relations , seeing how days before the Swiss picked the Patriot missile system over the French/Italian  SAMP/T

EU: Promoting Project fear in which to blot out their Vaccine failure

(Strasburg) If you haven't noticed the World has been under the grip of a COVID (C19) pandemic this past year. as of 26/02/21  2.5 million people have died and that's just the ones who have been recorded as victims

In response many nations set about mitigating the threat of C19 by setting their best scientists to come up with a vaccine and that they did. One such vaccine is the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, designed by Oxford university using a viral vector vaccine whom they handed over production to AstraZeneca with a stipulation written into the contract that it will be sold at cost to the world, which is why it sells for around $3 as opposed to others which sell for around $30. Anyway The British Government funded the development of the vaccine to the tune of £84 Million with no guarantees and all the risks borne by the Government. That was in May 2020. The UK also made numerous deals with other vaccine developers resulting in it procuring on paper enough doses to inject each person 5 times.

Now before you think greedy. this was with companies before they had successfully produced a vaccine. The EU took a slightly different track and in contrast to the Uk and US throwing money at the problem, they instead decided to barter in which to get a better deal, fine if things went to plan that would be great. unfortunately things didn't go to plan. unlike the Uk and US the EU at the start of 2021 had placed all its eggs in one basket, that basket contained 3 eggs:

The Pfizer vaccine (200 million doses)

The Sanofi/GSK vaccine (300 million doses)

Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine (300 million doses)

Now most people will have heard of the Pfizer and the Oxford/AstraZenica, but Sanofi. Well thats a vaccine the French were/are developing and the French pushed the EU to reject an offer of 500 million doses of the Pfizer in which to ensure that the EU had a pure EU (French) vaccine. The thing is Sanofi which was meant to be ready by December, was pushed back to Jan , then Feb and last month it was pushed back to Oct 2021. Not to worry EU still had the other two, then in January, Pfizer stated it would have to cut production in which to improve its production line in which to be able to provide for the increase in demand. Not to worry the EU still has Oxford/AstraZeneca to fall back on. and then they too stated that its European plants would be unable to supply what they said they could due to poor yields at its plant in Belgium which is exactly what AZ experienced at its 2 plants in the Uk  in August last year when its delivery date of 30 million doses by September was pushed back to Nov with a total of 4 million doses by year end. AZ and the Gov set about rectifying  the problem and by the start of the year both UK plants were working as expected.

The EU not happy with seeing their final egg not turn up trumps, went into a hissy fit and demanded that AZ redirect vaccines from the UK plants to the EU despite the UK having signed their contract with AZ 3 months before the EU. They then publicly attacked the Uk threatening to halt any deliveries of vaccines the Uk had ordered from the EU. they even forced a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland contrary to their own demands that the UK has to keep NI in line with the EU. that lasted a few hours. instead of sitting down behind closed doors in which to resolve the issue with AstraZeneca  the EU tried to force arm them publicly by going to the press, when that plan of action didn't work they took to character assassinating the vaccine by claiming it isn't good enough and they won't be vaccinating over 65s year olds with it. A stance repeated across the EU, which I suppose would be a political fix in which to explain to the EU masses wanting a vaccine why they can't be vaccinated, not due to their ineptness but rather due to the poor effective ness of the AZ vaccine.

The thing is paper after paper shows that the a single standard dose of AZ provides an efficacy from day 22 to day 90 post vaccination of 76% with protection not falling in this three-month period After the second dose vaccine efficacy from two standard doses is 82.4% with the 3-month interval being used in the UK. (82.4% effective, with a 95% confidence interval of 62.7% - 91.7% at 12+ weeks) and the reason for Macrons outburst the test group of 100 people had nobody over 65 in it.

Ok but this is where it gets silly. The UK had by 24/02/21 given the 1st of 2 jabs to just shy of a third of its population with 18.91 million people

The next country with the highest number of vaccines doses administered is Germany at 5.5 million. Now I mentioned silly, It was revealed yesterday that out of the 6,134,707 doses of the AZ vaccine received by the EU.4,849,752 doses haven't been utilised not only that, but the vaccine hasn't been redirected to people under 65 as the EU leaders stated would only receive the vaccine, there are even evidence that people are refusing to accept the vaccine despite it been given the ok, by the EUs European Medicines Agency

So in a nutshell people are going to become very ill or even worse across the EU due to the fact that its political leaders rather than put their hand up and admit they got it wrong instead slate a life saving vaccine resulting 5 million doses sitting around doing nothing But it gets worse The EU leader Ursula von der Leyen (who in her previous job as German defence minister left a train wreck) last night gave a press conference where she stated that the EU  will ban the exports of Covid vaccines . Couldn't make it up if you tried.

EU: Rings the Iranian FM and invites him to Strasbourg for talks

(Strasburg) So the US is in the middle of a bun fight with Iran. You know that Iran which has recently murdered 1500 of its own citizens who simply protested against fuel rises and demanded that the money the mullahs spend on funding terror groups around the world be spent at home instead) on top of that over 9000 were arrested . This is the same Iran which hangs around (that the world knows of) 300 people a year, which executes gays, which oppresses women, which has an overt ballistic missile program and is the only country to have developed Intercontinental Ballistic missiles which can range over 3000 miles, which don't carry nukes., which is where is semi clandestine nuke program comes in. The same iran which has destabilised the region with insurgencies in Bahrain, Yemen, Jordan, Gaza, and Lebanon which has semi quasi control of Lebanon and Iraq , which openly kidnaps dual citizens in which to keep the other country sweet or else face pressure from the public over how they are not offering what the Iranians want. You'd think the so called Human rights leaders of this world..The EU wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

But it appears the EU is only too happy to appease the mad mullahs, in which to try and win trade concessions by not standing by the only country willing to stand up to Iran. It appears to the liberals at the EU, the US and not Iran is the bigger threat and  so today the EUs foreign policy chief Josep Borrell had issued a personal invitation to Zarif to visit Brussels. Yup it appears that the EU is rolling out a red carpet for a mass murderer and has made it very clear that when the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen meets him she will discuss maintaining the Iran nuclear deal, which will entail cashing in on the Iranian fallout with the US, by selling the EUs soul and siding with Iran in return for Iran not targeting EU assets. I hope to god I am wrong, but something tells me I am not.

Cyprus: Turkey starts drilling for oil in European waters off Cyprus.

(Nicosia)  Despite all its protestations about Israel occupying the holyland, Ankara really doesn't have a leg to stand on regards the moral high-ground seeing as it occupies Northern Cyprus (as well as parts of Greece/Armenia/Syria and Iraq)  which it invaded and annexed in 1971 citing it was defending the rights of Turkish people. However whilst linked to Greece , Cyprus really stood alone agaisnt Turkey until it joined the EU in 2004.

After Israel found oil in the Eastern Med, everybody in the region decided to stake a claim off their shores.Egypt,Cyprus , Lebanon and even Hamas all got into the act. As part of the Eurozone, Cyprus is supposed to have the protection of the rest of the nations which make up the EU.  However that hasn't deterred Turkey from throwing its weight around the Island (sending its navy to bully Cyprus) in which to claim the seas off the coast of Cyprus as its own.

Which is why it is currently drilling for Oil off the coast of Cyprus.

Standing by one of its smaller nations the politically correct mandarins at Strasbourg sent Turkey a strongly worded letter stating that they are not amused a month ago, but not enough to cause offence.

"The European Union stands united behind the Republic of Cyprus and expects Turkey to respect sovereign rights of the EU member states. The European Council will continue to follow these developments closely."
In response Turkey mocked the EU, with Erdogan taking aim at Macron in his retort:
"Those who have the right to speak about the eastern Mediterranean can speak. When did France have the right to speak on the eastern Mediterranean? Do they have a coast in the eastern Mediterranean?"
And sent a second ship to look for oil off the coast of Pathos (western Cyprus). Funny enough the United States sent a much clearer message to Ankara:
The United States remains deeply concerned by Turkey’s repeated attempts to conduct drilling operations in the waters off Cyprus and its most recent dispatch of the drillship Yavuz off the Karpas Peninsula. This provocative step raises tensions in the region. We urge Turkish authorities to halt these operations and encourage all parties to act with restraint and refrain from actions that increase tensions in the region. Energy resource development in the Eastern Mediterranean should foster cooperation, increase dialogue between the two communities and among regional neighbors, and provide a foundation for durable energy security and economic prosperity. We continue to believe the island’s oil and gas resources, like all of its resources, should be equitably shared between both communities in the context of an overall settlement.
Pity the EU hasn't the balls to stand up to bullies.

EU: European parliament states that members’ €4,416-a-month expenses must remain secret in which to protect their privacy

(Strasbourg)  You may have noticed that currently there is a huge bunfight across Europe regards the UK leaving the European Union. The British voted leave due to the belief that the EU is undemocratic, that it wastes money and that it has no clear direction in anything it does. The pro European crowd state otherwise and are currently demanding that the largest attended vote in British history which they lost should be retaken as they claim people didn't know what they were voting for, plus the fact that the racist old people who voted to leave are dying off and so the will of the voting public has changed. Which is strange as poll after poll still shows the British want to leave.

The EU haven't helped by dragging things out in which to ensure that other countries don't follow the UK and also in allowing the remain in Europe crowd to capitalise on their stall tactics in which to have another vote in which to keep the UK inside the European union. So the question has to be asked exactly why do the political elites inside Europe want the UK to remain. You see the EU is a club and everybody chips in, to fund the dream of a better Europe. The problem is the Western European countries chip in much more than the poorer Eastern and Southern ones, whilst that is ok when you have equal numbers, the EU like a ponzi scheme keeps on growing and accepting poorer nations. That growth of the EU is displayed below:

From 1981 onwards the vast number of new member's have been recipients and not contributors of the EU kitty. Currently there are a number of applicants waiting to join, Albania, Bosnia, Serbia Macedonia and possibly Turkey which has been trying to join for a few years now. All these countries will require huge amounts of investment, money which will have to come from the richer Western countries. and that is where one of the problem lies. Financial accountability. Before Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Greece joined they were meant to sort out their act, get rid of corruption and basically balance their books, they were given a set time to do so and they didn't. This has resulted in the likes of Romania and Bulgaria being allowed to join the EU whilst failing to meet the criteria set for them. We saw what happened with Greece when they were allowed to join without meeting those same standards, which allowed them to bankrupt the country by allowing their citizens to retire on full pensions from the age of 45 onwards and yet in order to fund this pozi scheme the EU has to continue to milk its richer members dry.

Any attempt of financial accountability at the EU is shunned, which kind of explains why their accounts have never really been balanced. Oh the mandarins in their ivory towers say they have in which to silence their detractors but the fact remains they still haven't managed to balance their books

Which brings me to the latest example of how the EU goes well out of its way in which to refuse to allow the people who fund it, see how they are spending their money. The EU parliament is made up of second rate politicians who having failed to make the grade in their own countries settle for second best at Strasbourg. They are paid a starting wage of €8,611.31 (£7,705) a month in gross salary, plus pension. On leaving they receive a transition allowance worth up to €206,664, depending on their length of service. Those payments are there for all to see. However it has come out in the wash that MEPs have been supplementing their wages with a €4,416 monthly “general expenditure allowance” awarded to MEPs to fund their constituency offices, which costs the public purse €40m a year. MEPs are also refunded first-class travel expenses and get a €313 daily allowance for hotel and living costs when working in Brussels and Strasbourg. Most MEPs claim the maximum office allowance, with only a handful reimbursing the parliament for unspent funds. There is no requirement to provide invoices, receipts or any details on how the funds are spent. Since 2009 MEPs have been obliged to provide receipts for travel expenses, but the €313 tax-free “subsistence” allowance is paid in full, without questions or documents.

A group of journalists who investigate MEPs expense accounts found 249 “ghost offices”, where MEPs had no office, or who refused to divulge the address. In fact out of 748 MEPs only 133 have revealed what they pay in office fees. This led for a call for tighter rules to be put in place in which to stop any abuse of the system. In July the MEPs themselves voted to reject this request. the journalists appealed and took them to court. Today the EU court rejected those calls for greater transparency regards MEPs’ expenses, as it upheld a decision that politicians are not required to reveal how they spend public money intended for their offices citing that an obligation to publish spending records would undermine MEPs’ privacy.

In otherwords the ponzi scheme continues to milk the plebs dry.

Iran: Threatens Europe with Missiles.

(Tehran)  It never fails to amaze me how many people will go out of their way in which to excuse the mad mullahs of Iran. Be it hanging people for being gay, torturing women to death or even constantly threatening Israel. The do-gooders have no problem ensuring that Iran is excused everything by blaming somebody else. Various members of the EU are more than happy to overlook the totalitarianism of the Iranian state in which to make a quick buck ,and since the dropping of sanctions , trade has really flourish between the EU and the Mad mullahs. However whilst European nations are more than happy to look the other-way regards trade deals with Iran. The Mad Mullahs who run the show there have no problem telling it how it is. Which is why the Brigadier General Hossein Salami the deputy head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards has warned Europe that it could increase the range of its missiles in response to the French called for tough talks with Iran about its ballistic missile programme.

“So far we have felt that Europe is not a threat, so we did not increase the range of our missiles. But if Europe wants to turn into a threat, we will increase the range of our missiles,”
A program that threatens everybody , however as this is the EU expect them to issue a statement blaming Israel.Well that is the way of a socialist

The EU speaks, its message reeks

(EU) Since the UK voted to leave the EU, we have heard nothing but moaning from the mandarins at Strasbourg, who whilst happy to claim that democracy prevails to all the world, seem not being able to understand the concept of equality and freedom for all and oh how they have moaned at how the UK is going to leave this huge ponzy scheme of which the UK stumps up the second highest amount:

Well today European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker made it quite clear on how he feels about losing such a huge backer to the EUs house of cards:

Yeah , yer jack-booted NAZIS, we heard that all before be it the Spanish, the French or even your pin-up Adolf. But hey rather than listen to me, here is Nigel Farage telling Juncker how it is:
