Kuwait: How Muslims use religion to silence critics.

(Kuwait city) In February this year the body of Filipino maid Joanna Demafelis was found inside a freezer in Kuwait.  She had been reported missing last year and her employers were arrested in Damascus, where they had fled hoping to evade  justice.  Joannas dreadful murder exposed the dreadful conditions that Filipinos face in the Middle East resulting in the Philippines banning its citizens working in the country. The abuse that  foreign workers face across the ME is down to how the Muslim states operate. Where domestic workers are employed under a sponsorship system that gives employers the right to keep their passports and exercise full control over their stay. Rights groups say this leaves workers across the region open to exploitation and abuse.

As a result of the ban the Kuwaiti government signed an agreement with Manila in May allowing domestic workers to retain their passports, which are usually taken by employers and to refuse to be transferred to other employers without their consent. Plus they get 4 days off a months and 7 hours sleep a day.

Well that didn’t go down well with Sondos Alqattan, a Kuwaiti blogger who has over 2.5 million people following her for her beauty tips. She opined her disgust at this move releasing a video where she stated:
“How can you have a servant at home who keeps their own passport with them? What’s worse is they have one day off every week,.. “If they run away and go back to their country, who will refund me? Honestly I disagree with this law. I don’t want a Filipino maid any more.”
Well that outburst didn’t go down well for this so called social media star and after she was openly denounced as a racist and a bigot, resulting in many makeup companies dropping her like a hot potato .She has decided to fight back. In a new video posted to her now private Twitter account on Thursday, Alqattan called the backlash to her comments:
“A foreign media campaign” designed to attack Islam, the hijab, Kuwait and the wider Gulf region. Of course I did not have to offer any apology, because I was telling the truth. Keeping a domestic worker’s passport is deemed an enslavement and racism [by these people]. Why judge me [over keeping] my worker’s passport, with the aim of ensuring my safety? These people express more outrage over my remarks than they have over humanitarian crises and massacres in Syria, Iraq and Gaza. Are these humanitarian values?”
The stupid racist bigot also stated she was going to reveal the names of companies which ditch her , so that her 2.5 million followers can boycott them. Talk about a sense of self importance.

Did you see what she did, by invoking the name of Islam, she silences those in the region who don’t wish to be murdered by those who find offence in everything.  We see that tactic in play across the world and increasingly in the West, where critics of Islamic intolerance are now being silenced with surreptitious death threats. You know like British MP Sarah Champion in my last post. And the worse part , our governments allow these bigots to get away with such behaviour.

Kuwait: British Muslim offended by Kuwaiti School telling her she can't wear her hijab in class.

(Kuwait) When 23 year old British Muslim Fouzia Khatun, applied for a job as a nursery teacher in Kuwait she was offended  when she  told she would have to remove her hijab because it is 'an English school'.Miss Khatun, had hoped to work at The English Playgroup in the Muslim Gulf state - where she felt she would be 'more accepted' than in the UK. However after applying for the job, she received  an email from the school's HR staff reading:

'Parents don't want their children taught by covered teachers. It is an English school'.
It added that she would not be allowed to wear her headscarf on the premises if she wanted the job at the fee-paying school - and that this was 'non-negotiable'

Naturally as is the world today where rules no longer apply Miss Khatun was offended and took to social media in which to express her disgust at how an Islamic country run by Muslims has rules.
"I find It disgusting that you think it’s acceptable to ask your employees to remove such a personal and important thing for the sake of appearing physically acceptable to parents, when in fact you should be demonstrating to your students’ acceptance of all kinds of people and presenting this with your varied choice of employee.”
The last I looked fee paying schools are there for the parents and not for people sending in application forms.

US troops rammed in Kuwait in what is described as terrorist attack

KUWAIT CITY (AP) — American troops deployed in Kuwait who were intentionally rammed by an Egyptian man over the weekend pulled their attacker from his burning vehicle after it caught fire, the U.S. Embassy said Sunday.

The embassy described the incident on a Kuwaiti highway Saturday that was initially thought to be a traffic accident as “an attempted terrorist attack.” All three uniformed U.S. military personnel in the truck that was struck escaped unharmed, the embassy said.

The incapacitated attacker, identified by Kuwaiti authorities as Ibrahim Sulaiman, born in 1988, was hospitalized and in police custody.

Kuwaiti authorities had earlier said five American soldiers were involved. The Interior Ministry published pictures of the aftermath of the crash showing a wrecked garbage truck along with items it described as a suicide belt loaded with shrapnel. The white pickup truck apparently carrying the soldiers had the left side of its bed smashed in.

Kuwait identifies mosque suicide bomber as Saudi

Fahd Suliman Abdul-Muhsen al-Qabaa
KUWAIT (Reuters) - Kuwait identified the suicide bomber behind its worst militant attack as a young Saudi Arabian man and said on Sunday it had detained the driver of the vehicle that took him to a Shi'ite Muslim mosque where he killed 27 people.

The disclosure of the bomber's nationality is likely to focus the attention of authorities probing Friday's suicide attack on ties between Islamists in Kuwait and those in Saudi Arabia, a center of ultra-conservative Islamic thought.

Kuwait's interior ministry named the bomber as Fahd Suliman Abdul-Muhsen al-Qabaa and said he flew into Kuwait's airport at dawn on Friday, only hours before he detonated an explosives-laden vest at Kuwait City's Imam al-Sadeq mosque.

Video from Kuwait shows what could be the suicide bomber entering the mosque

(Kuwait City) Video coverage from the front of the Imam Sadiq mosque shows what appears to be the suicide bomber entering the mosque followed by the explosion. What strikes me is how complacent the security staff are (watch their reflections). Instead of checking up a late comer to the mosque (notice the straight lines under his clothing) they chat about a car in the background. This disgusting attack could have been prevented if those 5 idiots had carried out their duties correctly.

Kuwait Shia mosque explosion: 27 reported killed, 227 injured

(Kuwait) At least 27 people have been killed and 227 injured following an explosion at the al-Imam al-Sadiq mosque in al-Sawaber, Kuwait city with images posted to social media networks showing the devastation caused and what appeared to be a number of bodies lying among the rubble.

In a statement posted via its affiliated social media accounts, Isis said it had carried out the attack which occurred at the height of Ramadan prayers when the mosque would have been at its busiest, but personally I would take that revelation with a pinch of salt as ISIS like to try and claim credit for every current terrorist attack going in which to bolster its perverted image.

Ramadan death toll is now at 1,454.

US A-10 ground attack aircraft arrive in Kuwait

(Ahmed al-Jabr Air Base) The US has committed several A-10s from the 163rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron to Kuwait in which to up the ante against the blood thirsty thugs of ISIS.

The irony here is that the current administration (as only the Democrats can) have scheduled the USAF to get rid of its entire stock of A-10 attack aircraft so as to save money. Money, I should add, the US has loads of to hand over to any foreign country or concern who simply has to ask for it.
