(Tessalit) Two French soldiers serving in Mali were killed on
Saturday after their armoured vehicle was destroyed by an improvised explosive
device, another soldier was injured in the blast that took place in Tessalit, a
town in the country's northeastern region of Kidal.
The soldiers were members of the paratroop regiment based in
Tarbes, southwestern France, part of the 5,000 troops France has in West Africa
as part of its Barkhane military operations to fight against Islamists linked
to al-Qaida and the "Islamic State."
