(Xinjiang) An attack late on Tuesday evening saw three knife-wielding attackers kill five people and injured another five in China's far western region of Xinjiang before police shot dead the attackers.
The attack took place in Pishan
county in the restive southern part of Xinjiang.
Hundreds of people have been killed in recent years in Xinjiang,
which is situated on the borders of central Asia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and
India, in violence between members of the ethnic Uighur (Islamic) minority and
majority Han Chinese.
