(Queens. NY) Alala Uddin Akongi, the imam of Al-Furqan Jame Masjid Mosque in Ozone Park, and his assistant were murdered by a lone gunman as they walked home from praying at the mosque this afternoon with both being shot in the head at close range at around 1350hrs local time.
Whilst the gunman has been described as a dark skinned Latino, Muslims in the area are already blaming Donald Trump for these murders. Mashuk Uddin, the brother of one of the victims, said the shooting was a hate crime.
Dozens of angry Muslim men gathered at the murder scene, making it clear they believed the shooting was a hate crime — with the two religious leaders specifically targeted.
Cops and witnesses described the shooter as tall and Hispanic, carrying a large handgun, and wearing a dark blue shirt and short pants. Police, without providing a motive, said initially that the shooting was not a hate crime.
It appears that this killing, has all the hallmarks of a professional hit, something that happens all the time in Islamic countries in which to gain control of a mosque, - which, lets be honest, is a cash cow when it comes to making money. The question we should be asking is: who stands to gain from the the deaths of the mullah and his assistant?
