(Deir ez-Zor) The Syrian Army is currently embroiled in a
huge bunfight just to the south of the self-proclaimed capital of ISIS of Raqqah. The area centred around the military airport
at Deir ex-Zor has for some very strange reason managed to keep ISIS at bay
during the entire civil war in Syria.
Besieged since 2015, the Syrians have
begun the hard task of breaking the siege. Whilst ISIS did split the area in
town this past January the Syrians have stood firm and have started to take
back lost ground. One advantage that the Syrians have over the terrorists is
airpower and as such air vehicles are prime targets. The video clip below shows
a very lucky Mil 17 helicopter.
