(Riyadh) When Shia Iran played its cards and actively supported the Shia Yemeni rebels which resulted in them talking half of Yemen. The Sunni Saudi government next door reacted by sending in the troops, it has been supported by numerous Gulf states. However, even with an abundance of manpower, technology, and fire-power .The rebels have been giving the Saudi coalition a hard time.
Well, it appears that Saudi Arabia has won the support of another Sunni country, with Pakistan pledging to send in a brigade of combat troops in which to shore up Saudi Arabia’s vulnerable southern border from reprisal attacks mounted by the Houthis in Yemen, the brigade will be based in the south of the Kingdom, but will only be deployed inside its border.
Whilst the Houthi rebels have made small incursions into SA and launched numerous missile attacks on populated Saudi cities, a large scale attack is beyond them. So using the Pakistani army to secure the border is something of an overkill. However, the Pak army would be the most professional army in the Saudi coalition if not the peninsula and well versed in taking the fight to rebels, they would make huge inroads into the areas occupied by the Rebels. Only time will tell.
