Yemen: Saudi Frigate hit by suicide attack???

(Red Sea) A Saudi Al Madinah-class frigate on patrol off the Yemeni port of Hodeidah was today hit by a suicide boat .

According to the Saudi Navy, a boat packed with explosives piloted by Ansar Allah suicide bombers
rammed the rear of the vessel, resulting in an explosion and fire at the rear of the ship, which was then brought under control. As a result, two Saudi crew members were killed and three others injured, who are now in a stable condition. The coalition added that the Saudi frigate continued patrolling the area.

4 Al Madinah-class boats were built in France during the 80s and due to their shallow draft are all based in the Red sea. With a displacement of 2,610 tons , they are armed with eight Otomat surface-to-surface missiles, one 8-cell Crotale surface-to-air missile launcher , one 100mm/44 dual purpose gun, two 40 mm anti-aircraft guns, four torpedo tubes, an aft helicopter deck and hangar.
