(Banjul) The former president of the Gambia, Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jemus
Junkung Jammeh who lost in a country wide election last December and then refused to acknowledge that
loss, left the country with his tail between his legs claiming he was only leaving in which to save life.
The fact that the armed forces had refused to
stand by their man after Western African nations led by Senegal sent in theirarmed forces in which to remove Jammeh kind of hints that when he stated he wanted
to save life, he was referring to his own.
“All this while, as a Muslim and a patriot, I believe it is not necessary that a single drop of blood be shed… I believe in the importance of dialogue and in the capacity of Africans to resolve among themselves all the challenges in the way towards democracy, economic and social development. It is as a result of this that I have decided to, in good conscience, relinquish the mantle of leadership of this great nation with infinite gratitude to all Gambians – women, children, youth and men.”

Anyway, he left last night with his family on a plane to Guinea
followed by a Chadian cargo plane containing a large number of luxury cars and
other items. On top of that it has transpired that $11m (£8.8m) is missing fromThe Gambia's state coffers. Got to love dictators for life who play the race
card in which to allow them to rob their own people blind. Funny enough he left office only a couple of days after his bestie did. I wonder if he was trying to Trump him?
So much for ruling for 1 billion years then.
