(Riyadh) The Royal Saudi Air Force formally inducted the first of its new BoeingF-15SA multi-role fighter aircraft in a ceremony celebrating the 50th
anniversary of the King Faisal Air College in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia ordered 84 new build F-15SAs and close to 70
kits to upgrade their existing F-15S fleet to the SA configuration.

Controls: The F-15SA has a modern fly-by-wire flight control system in place of the hybrid electronic/mechanical system used by all previous F-15s
Engines: F-15SAs will be equipped with General Electric F-110-GE-129 engines.
Electronic Warfare: The F-15SA will feature DEWs a brand new
digital electronic warfare system.
Radar: The F-15SA will be equipped with the APG-63(V)3 activeelectronically scanned array.
Sensors: The F-15SA will use the Sniper XR targeting pod and
the 3rd gen tiger eyes FLIR sensor. Goodrich's DB-110 reconnaissancepod. This is a digital, real-time, tactical reconnaissance system designed to capture
images in day or night.
Weapons: the F-15SA features two additional hardpoints which will expand the F15s already heavy combat punch. Allowing it to carry 2x AIM-120AMRAAMs,
2x AIM-9X Sidewinders, 2x AGM-84 SLAM-ERs, 2x AGM-88 HARMs, 6x GBU-54/B Laser JDAMs, and 8x GBU-39/B Small
Diameter Bombs.
Also on show was Saudi Arabia new Chinese CH-4 Combat UAV which is already in service inside Iraq and is supposed to be the equal of the US Predator Drone.
