US refuses to furnish Pakistan with helicopter gunships

(Washington) Pakistan has for years asked the US to supply it with certain weapon systems: Predator drones, Apache Helicopter gunships for example. The US has refused, simply because, while the Pakistani government claims they would be used to combat the terrorist threat, it's a no brainer that they not only would end up on the border with India, but that the Chinese would be allowed to swarm all over them in which to reverse-engineer their (much cheaper) version. Taking note of this, the Pakistani, have asked the US to furnish them with the last but one iteration of the Huey Cobra AH-1W (actually, it's a Super Cobra). But, again, the US has refused. Hopefully, the message will get through that if you are going to get into bed with the Chinese, there's no point sticking your arse in the air 5 times a day in which to ask others to deliver the goods.
