(
Schiedam) Dutch police had to shoot down a 26-year-old Syrian
in Schiedam who attacked them with an
axe .
It appears Police were called to the housing complex where
he lived with his father who called the police after becoming agitated and aggressive. After councillors failed to calm him down, a police team was sent in to arrest him. He in turn attacked members of the arrest team
who entered the apartment with an axe. In the fighting that arose a police dog was seriously
injured which later died. An attempt to subdue the man with a taser (impulse weapon)
failed. Resulting in live ammo being used.
The man was taken to the hospital with injuries in his lower
body.
