(Jerusalem) At around 7 am this morning approximately 28 mortar rounds were lobbed into Israel from Gaza. Most were intercepted by the 'Iron Dome' Anti-Missile system, however one missile did get through and impacted inside a Kindergarden. injuring one person.
data-lang="en">This attack constitutes the heaviest barrage from the Gaza strip against Israel since provoking Israel’s counter-terror operation in 2014. In response Israeli air strikes targeted Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in central Gaza.

Point to note:
1) The attack was timed to coincide with the start of the school day, targeting children in the hope of eliciting a harsh response from the IDF
2) Today a so called reverse flotilla left Gaza just before lunch local time, presumably timed to coincide with serial 1
