Ramadan Death Count Round Up (July 9th, 2015)

(Egypt) A police officer in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Beni Suef was shot dead by unidentified assailants early Thursday.

Five Egyptian civilians were killed on Wednesday when a mortar round hit a house in a North Sinai village.

(Libya) One person was killed and 3 injured when a missile landed on the main hospital in Benghazi.

At least 14 people were killed in battles in Libya's second city Benghazi between militiamen and forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, hospital officials said Thursday.

(Iraq) A slew of bomb attacks and shootings in the capital resulted in 6 people killed and 17 injured Wednesday.

(Syria) The ongoing battle for the second city Aleppo saw 19 civilians killed yesterday.

(Yemen) A car bomb was detonated outside a mosque in Sanaa killing 1 and injuring 5 others.

Yemeni fighters allied with exiled President Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi killed 15 rebels in a Thursday attack on their checkpoints in the country's southern Abyan province, a military source said. In the of city Aden, 17 rebels were killed in airstrikes by Saudi-led coalition warplanes.

(Pakistan) 3 people were killed during a failed bank robbery in the city of Lahore.

(Kashmir) Gunfire from Pakistan today killed 2 Indian soldiers in India. The second set of soldiers to have died these past 4 days in such an incident.

(Bangladesh) 20-year-old college student Amera Reshma was brutally murdered in her apartment in Mirpur-2. Mirpur's police station SI Abdus Salam said Reshma's throat was slit and her body left in the first floor apartment of a five-storey building at Rainkhola, where Reshma stayed with her parents.

(Cameroon) 13 people have been killed in an attack by Boko Haram fighters on the village of Bordo, located on the border with Nigeria's Borno State. Government officials say at least 10 attackers were also killed in the fighting.

(Turkey) A dispute in Ankara over parking saw a man in charge of the parking area pull out a gun and shoot the other fellow dead. The resulting protest led to police using tear gas.
