Ramadan Death Count Round Up (July 13th, 2015)

(Yemen) Saudi-led air raids destroyed 15 houses, killed 25 civilians and wounded 50 others.

(Nigeria) A Boko Haram suicide bomber on a bus killed one member of Nigeria's civilian joint task force (JTF) at the main checkpoint on the outskirts of the northeastern city of Maiduguri on Monday, military and JTF sources said.

(Niger) A fight in the aftermath of the battle over the appointment of the deputy Imam for the Paiko Central Mosque left one person dead.

(Syria) At least 13 people, among them a child, were killed in Syrian government raids on the Islamic State group-held town of Al-Bab on Monday, a monitor said.

4 people, 2 adults and 2 children, were killed when Syrian Government forces shelled areas in the old neighbourhood of al-Matar in Deir Ezzor yesterday.

Violent clashes are taking place between the Syrian government forces, supported by NDF and Hezbollah, against Jabhat al- Nusra. Unknown gunmen assassinated a man in al-Yarmouk camp after al-Ishaa prayers. And a woman and her mother were killed by shelling in the neighborhood of Ish al-Warwar on the outskirts of Damascus.

An Iranian Revolutionary Guards Colonel Karim Ghawabesh—who had served in the IRGC during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War—had been killed Saturday in Zabadani where the Syrian regime’s 4th Mechanized Division and Hezbollah troops launched an offensive in the early hours of July 5.

At least 35 people have died and 50 others been injured in a series of barrel bombs dropped by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad in a town near the Syrian city of Aleppo.

(Iraq) In Baghdad on Sunday at least 35 people were killed in a series of car bombs and suicide attacks in mainly Shi'ite districts. A statement in the name of Islamic State, issued on Monday, claimed responsibility for some of the blasts.

(Somalia) Death toll from Kenyan aerial assault rises from 10 to over 20, including women and children.

Somali terrorist group al Shabaab today attacked a military base in central Somalia, killing 4 soldiers for the cost of 2 of their own.

(Algeria) A terrorist was killed, another was arrested, a weapon and a quantity of ammunition were recovered Sunday night in Msila, the National Defence Ministry reported Monday.

(Cameroon) Fourteen people were killed and several others injured in a suicide bomb attack on Sunday evening in Cameroon's Fotokol town, on the border with Nigeria, army sources have reported.

(Libya) Indiscriminate shelling hit a residential neighborhood in Libya's eastern restive city of Benghazi, killing at least five people and wounding 17 others. Also, 2 soldiers were killed in clashes.

(Tunisia) Tunisian security forces have killed three senior leaders of an Islamist terrorist group who were trying to establish an armed presence in the south of the country.

(Afghanistan) 14 armed Taliban, including 6 Pakistanis, were killed in clashes with Afghan security forces in Nooristan province.

The death toll from the suicide bomb attack on a military base in Khost (reported yesterday) has increased from 25 to 34.

(Turkey) An argument between a carpenter and building contractors turned into a gunfight in the western province of Bursa, resulting in one man getting shot, and whilst on the floor wounded, getting shot again and killed.

(UAE) Alaa Badr Abdullah al-Hashemi, a 30-year-old Emirati, was executed today for the murder of an American teacher Ibolya Ryan. Mother of 6, Hashemi, who tried to play the insanity card in which to get off, found to her horror that the court was having none of it, and she joined her maker in hell this morning. Mind you, it didn't help her case when it was found she was the idiot behind a bomb attempt on an American doctor.

(Bangladesh) A group of men filmed themselves murdering a 13-year-old boy and posting the film clip to Facebook. Police have arrested most of the men, but the brave ringleader has done a runner to Saudi Arabia in which to try and escape justice. Expect him to turn up in the UK demanding asylum soon.

(West Bank) A four-year-old girl identified as Lana Hassan Ahmed Rashid was shot dead Sunday evening after she was accidentally hit in the head by gunfire at her home in Yatta, south Hebron.

(Gaza) Police in the Gaza Strip are investigating the death of a young Palestinian man who was stabbed to death in the southern city of Khan Younis last Tuesday, the same day a Palestinian man was shot dead after the funeral of a man stabbed to death in Gaza City.
