Pakistan: Pregnant woman stoned to death by her family for marrying the man she loved

(Pakistan) 25-year-old Farzana Parveen met and married the man of her dreams, 45-year-old Iqbal. Unfortunately, in doing so, she offended her family and, like Muslims all around the world, they had to do something in which to regain their honour. So her father filed an abduction case against her husband, and on their day in court in Lahore, Parveen's relatives waited and, as the happily married couple walked up to the court's main gate, her family members fired shots in the air and tried to snatch her from Iqbal. However, she resisted, so her father, brothers and other relatives started beating her, eventually pelting her with bricks from a nearby construction site (yeah, real classy). After she lay dead on the floor, Parveen's father surrendered and called the murder an 'honour killing', which under Sharia law means a night in the cell and a release the next day.

What a wonderful faith Islam is.
