New Chinese MRAP seen in Nigerian army service

(Abuja) With the increase in attacks by Islamic terrorists inside Nigeria becoming much more widespread, some commentators have taken to say that the Nigerian troops fighting these so called Islamic freedom fighters are not as well armed as their opponents. Well, news video from Nigeria has shown that the army is using the latest Chinese, yes, Chinese Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles.

In 2010, Mobile Land Systems (MLS), a South African armoured vehicle manufacturer, won a contract to supply the Chinese with 11 mine-resistant armour protected (MRAP) vehicles in conjunction with a Chinese company associated with the People's Liberation Army, and transfer know-how to the east-Asian giant.

Well, it seems, that not only have the Chinese mastered how to make MRAP vehicles, they have started selling them in markets which the South Africans had been the sole supplier, one such market being... Nigeria.

Here is the current Caprivi MRAP vehicle sold by South Africa.

and here is the Chinese version: The Poly Technologies CS-VP3.
