(Qa’atabah) The squeeze continues on the Iranian backed Houthi
rebels inside Yemen with the opening of a surprise new front centred around the city of Qa’atabah
which is situated just outside the mountainous terrain the rebels still hold.
The initial attack saw around 40 rebels killed on Sunday, the follow up
operation has resulted in an further 97 Houthi rebels killed and an additional
120 taken prisoner. It seems that with Iran now having to concentrate on what
is happening around its own borders, add
the huge shortfall in oil revenue , it is no longer able to fund the mischief
it has been carrying out inside Yemen as it used to do. Expect further set
backs for the rebels in the coming months.
