Saudi Arabia jails gay man for 3 years and sentences him to 450 lashes

(Medina) When the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police, heard about a man who was using Twitter in which to meet gay people, they put down their box of donuts and rushed into action.

Getting one of their own to play the part of a gay man, they tracked this naughty, naughty man down, and when they knocked on his door, he found himself in handcuffs.

A Saudi court sentenced a 24-year-old man to three years in prison and ordered him lashed 450 times after he was convicted of offering himself to other men through his Twitter page.

In another case, the Saudi thought police arrested 2 women who used foul language between themselves on WhatsApp. For their crime of acting like women, the court ordered them to be jailed for 10 days and to receive 10 lashes each.

Well done, the Saudi Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, for keeping its country pure and bigoted.
