German Tiger helicopter gunships complete Afghan mission without firing a shot in anger

(Camp Marmal) After 18 months combat duty in Afghanistan, Germany's 4 Tiger helicopter gunships have finally ended their mission and will be returning to Germany in August, without having had to unsheathe their claws.

Thankfully for the German contingent, they are based in the far (much quieter) north of the country. However, they have lost 57 of their own, mostly to terrorist action. It's a shame really, as the Tiger is supposed to be far superior to the Apache in many aspects, and it would have been nice to have seen the German variant in action (it is in use by 4 different countries and they all use different versions).

Personally, I feel the Australians have the best variant.
