Omar Bulphred, Montreal Jewish school firebomber, is back in jail

MONTREAL (Sun News) - A 27-year-old man imprisoned for committing anti-Semitic attacks was re-arrested Friday for allegedly breaking bail conditions, barely one month after being released for his past crimes.

Omar Bulphred, was sentenced to seven years in prison for setting fire to a Montreal Jewish school in 2006 and trying to bomb a Jewish community centre in 2007. He was barely out of prison one month when police said he was re-arrested and sent to a psychiatric institution for evaluation.

Bulphred appeared in court via video conference on Saturday and was formally charged with uttering threats, loitering, and breaking bail conditions.

Police said Bulphred threatened a man he didn't know, and broke into several properties in Montreal's east end.
