(Foggia) Last Friday 2 policemen stopped a wanted car driven by 25 yearold Omar Jallow an asylum seeker from Gambia as he was wanted for numerous
offences. Instead of coming quietly, Omar drive off , and the 2 policemen gave
chase, first by car and then by foot, when he deplaned outside an asylum centre
on the outskirts of town.
They quickly caught up with Omar, and arrested him,however the inhabitants of the asylum centre took umbrage and around 50 of them decided that the law in Italy doesn’t apply to them and so they set upon the 2 policemen in which to try and free their man . Thankfully the police had radioed for help and within 10 minutes backup arrived and they and their man were extracted out of the asylum centre after the migrants decided to flee.
The two policemen were taken to hospital afterwards and have
been bedded down for 30 and 15 days respectively. Omar is banged up on charges
of injury, violence and resistance to a public official
