(Telegraph) A British man, Haroon Rashid Aswat, has been extradited to the United States, where he is wanted for terror related offences, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.
The 40-year-old from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire, who was once dubbed Abu Hamza's deputy, is alleged to have travelled to the US in 1999 with the intention of setting up a Jihadist training camp in Oregon.
Aswat, who suffers from mental illness, was taken from Broadmoor hospital to a UK airport where he was met by representatives from the US authorities, who accompanied him on a flight to America.
