(Bournemouth) 59-year-old Faleh Ghazi Albasman wasn't impressed when he caught his 24-year-old daughter using a mobile phone, and feeling that his honour had been stained he stabbed her 13 times with a knife in which to regain it. Then, wanting to play the victim part for the lax British authorities whom Muslims the world over feel can only be sympathetic to their intolerant ways, he stabbed himself in the stomach.
Whilst in hospital getting treatment for his self sustained wound, Albasman spoke Arabic to a surgeon, asking him what the penalty for honour killings were in Britain, before telling him: "it's all about the honour". Later, when being interviewed by the police, Albasman related that his daughter Mashael had been very disrespectful, she had been talking on her phone and that was inappropriate in his culture. He said, "I was so angry. Boiling with anger. She said to me go back. A girl should not treat good men like me, decent men in this way". "I hated Mashael, how dare she talk to me in that way. I was so angry, upset and mentally low. Mashael broke my heart. He agreed by killing her had preserved his honour."
His culture? In the West, we are forced fed this diet that Islam is peaceful, that it is we non-Muslims who are intolerant, and that if we don't accept their barbaric ways, it is we who should be punished.
