Ramadan death toll in Syria, August 11, 2012

(Damascus) The internal conflict between two equally despotic sides in Syria saw around 103 killed on Friday (of which 55 were civilians). One of the worst incidents saw several people killed and 20 wounded as a shell landed on a packed bakery in the second largest city of Aleppo. Jihadists failed in an attack on Aleppo airport which saw them routed by the Syrian army defending the place.

In the central city of Homs, the army pounded the rebel stronghold of Khaldiyeh with "dozens" of people killed or wounded and a MiG-21 fighter jet dropped four bombs on rebel positions in Hanano, one of which struck the courtyard of an FSA compound and another struck a nearby house, wounding a number of people.

Ramadan death count moves up to 2,575.
