(Mindanao) After Islamic rebels took the town of Marawi on the 23rd May 2017, the Philippines has sent reinforcements to the area in which to take back the city, thus setting the stage for the bunfight that is currently ripping the town apart. However, the task hasn't been made any easier by how underfunded the military in the Philippines has been for a large number of years. Which kind of explains why they have been up-armouring their armoured cars with... wood.
