China and Argentina sign arms deal

(BUENOS AIRES) Bankrupt, in deep debt, and with so many allegations of nepotism, mismanagement, and even murder against her, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner today signed an agreement with the Chinese President in which to spend money ($1 billion) the country can ill afford in which to purchase Chinese military equipment, such as armoured personnel carriers, fighter jets and navy vessels.

The two nations also agreed to exchange military officers. In addition, China will build field hospitals in Argentina. This comes on top of how in March Argentina’s Congress approved China's first overseas satellite tracking station. The $300 million base is to be built in Argentina's southern Neuquen province and will begin operations in 2016.

Strange how a country which can’t pay its debts or even feed its people can find money in which to buy yet more weapons.
