He's releasing them as fast as he can: The fire sale at Gitmo continues
(WT) President Obama is due to release two more Guantanamo Bay inmates in the coming days, Fox News reported early Tuesday.
The overnight announcement from the White House comes on the heels of a similar decision made by Mr. Obama just a few days ago to free five Gitmo prisoners. Those five were arrested in Pakistan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on U.S. soil, but never charged.
Three hailed from Yemen; the other two, from Tunisia.
The nationalities and identities of the two who are poised to be released in the coming days are not yet known.
About three dozen inmates have been let go from Gitmo in recent months. About 125 remain at the facility, and Mr. Obama has made shutting the facility one of his campaign promises.
