Man shot dead inside Swiss mosque

(St Gallen) A bitter family feud ended in gunshots and a death today in Switzerland. But what set this murder aside is that the killer murdered his victim in a crowed mosque while he was praying.

The mosque in St Gallen serves primarily Albanian Muslims (at last count, 350) and at 1400hrs today the police reported:
'We received a call at 2.00pm of shots being fired. As officers entered they found a dead man in a prayer room. A man with a handgun was arrested. The investigation is continuing but it doesn't appear to be a hate crime against Muslims, but a feud among families.'
This has now been confirmed, with the Swiss Islamic council reporting:
The shooting is an act of revenge for a murder committed 18 years ago when Friday’s victim allegedly killed his killer’s brother. The shooting took place in the mosque because the killer knew that the victim went there to pray every Friday. It added that the killing did not have any political or religious basis.
