(
Tehran) Press TV has aired a video of the so called Israeli UAV they say they shot down. Call me skeptical but wouldn't a crash site onto the desert leave an impact mark on the ground and what's with all the detritus in very close proximity of the downed craft? Did they search the area and dump it all in one pile? If so, where are the footprints?
The remains in the video look like a
Elbit Hermes 450, but the range of one of these is 300 km, however, the 450 LE (Long Endurance) is equipped with 2 fuel tanks which allows it to remain aloft for 30 hours, thus giving it a range of 3,300 miles. Still pushing it tight, unless the IDF launched closer to Iran.
Far too many ifs for my liking, especially with how Iran stated that they got their hands on one shot down inside Syria. For me, something doesn't smell right with this story. (For a start, wouldn't a stealth drone be covered in Radar Absorbing Paint, never mind having a propeller?)
Update
Right, I've had a good look and I've spotted something.

British Hermes 450 |

Brazilian Hermes 450 |
The wreakage in question has a hole in its nose. Does the 450? Now look at the colour scheme. Now let's look at a certain Iranian UAV,
Shahed 129, which, funny enough, looks exactly like the Hermes 450. Here, don't take my word for it:

What's that thing sticking out of the front? |

Nice paint scheme. |
It might help explain why the video camera man doesn't bother filming the remains from the other side which exposes the underneath of the front. But the colour scheme is similar and it has something sticking out of its nose, which the 450 doesn't. Hey, I'm not saying the IDF couldn't have made one of theirs look like a Shahed 129, but why go to such extremes to give the Iranians such a publicity stunt? Funny enough the Iranians are letting the media have a look at this wreckage, something they have had no problem with doing in the past. Oh and
a slight update the Iranians are now cottoned onto the fact that the so called Israeli UAV doesn't have the legs to fly to Iran, now they have changed their story to..It was flown from a nearby arab country. Really, 2 months into Israel bombing Gaza into the Stoneage and the anti-semantic Arabs allow the Jews to fly from their territory. Ok a large number of British Muslims and liberals may accept that excuse, but I won't.
Something tells me this is just another Iranian scam.
