Syria: Aleppo rebel sharia committee issues fatwa against eating ‘colonial’ croissants

From Al Arabiya:
A sharia committee in a rebel-held area of Aleppo issued a fatwa deeming croissants ‘haram’ (forbidden in Islamic law) because of their “colonial” significance, pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat reported on Tuesday.

Croissants’ crescent shape celebrates European victory over Muslims, according to the fatwa (religious ruling).
It seems like just yesterday the Syrian rebels were eating human hearts, and today they refuse to eat croissants.

I wonder if the vegetables are safe.

Well ... 1000% true it is very silly to forbidden croissants, for myself I found it very delicious, but human hearts,,,, common Sir imagine with me that some criminal rapped your sister and cousin ( is it forbidden in your religion ) and the same one killed your family, burn your house, don't; want to talk what he did with your neighbors ,,, and imagine that this criminal was supported by regime and even more than that that regime asked or even order from those criminals to do those horrible acts>>>> you still imagine , well it is not fiction ,,, true, reality happened in Homs and other areas in Syria ,,, against people asked for their freedom in peaceful way before it is turn into armed opposition ,,, if you are really think of the above mentioned facts you know why it came as armed revolution
Now the most interesting part in the story Sir, that criminal who committed these crimes came into the hands of illiterate uneducated man who believes that honor is death or live issue.... he ate his heart ... Bravo even he threw it at the end ,,, not supporting result ,, but by God sake what made him do such thing ???
Another point warplanes threw tens of barrel bombs causing hundreds of victims most of them are children turned into pieces ,,,,imagine that you are a father and a pilot threw this barrels and killed your children ( it happened too ) and turned their body into pieces ,,, the same pilot fell into your hands ... ??? !! kiss him and forgive him ,, well you ??
