US: Downed Turkish jet was in Syrian airspace

(Levant) While the Islamic world washes its hands of the bloodshed currently ongoing in Syria, I mean contrast the response around the world to when Israel went into Gaza in 2009 in which to make Hamas pay for launching hundreds of missiles into their much larger neighbour (1,500 dead, majority - Hamas gunmen) to the over 16,000 people (majority - civilians) murdered in Syria this past year. Yup, there's that famous Simon and Garfunkel song playing in the background again.

Anyway, after continuing to protest about Israel day in and day out over 5 Turkish thugs shot in 2010, the Turks remain very silent on the thousands killed next door by their so called new friend Syria. This stance was substantiated by how a Turkish F-4 reconnaissance jet was shot down by the Syrians last week. It seems that, while happy to play hard ball with Israel (well, on paper anyway), they really don't wish to offend Syria for shooting down one of their jets. Well, the Turks have called in NATO in an attempt to use their mantra of "one for all, all for one" as an excuse to have somebody who can fight in their corner.

Well, today, the US intelligence have revealed that actually the Turkish jet was in Syrian airspace. Get that, the Turks were in the wrong, and officially, the Syrians did nothing wrong. Oh dear, instead of saying something (you know, like they do on a daily basis with Israel), the Turks remain silent.

Funny that.
