(Egypt) Salafism is a branch of puritanical Islam which has been getting a lot of bad press of late due to it fanatical interpretation of the Islamic holy book which promotes the view that Jihad is a just cause, Islam has to be spread to the unbeliever somewhat violently , and that returning to the ways of when the koran was written 1600 years ago is the only thing that can save people from Hell fire. This naturally entails strict segregation of the sexes.
The Salfist Al-Nour Party came to power after the downfall of the Egyptian government last year and they currently stand behind the Muslim Brotherhood in the power-stakes. Which is probably why the MB has turned a blind eye to gangs of pious Muslims patrolling the streets of Eygpt, berating, attacking and even murdering men for walking with women.
So with such a puritanical mindset, you expect the leaders of such a group of bigoted religious arseholes to be whiter than white. Unfortunately that isn't the case. You see last month the police came across a car parked at the side of a deserted road and on looking inside found one of the leaders of the Al Nour party not only in close company of a female,(who wasn't related to him) but she was on top of him doing naughty things.
Seeing as all of the above transpired in a pure Islamic country, the Salafist politician claimed that the girl was his fiance, that she was sick and he was helping her wash her face, he then claimed political immunity and did a runner. Leaving the young 19 year old girl named as Nesrine to take the flak by getting thrown in prison, undergo a virginity test and have background tests carried out to see if she has a criminal record.
Isn't Islam a wonderful religion.
