Hugo Chavez reaches for the stars, plans mission to Mars

(Caracas) In a television broadcast, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has stated that he aims to reach for the stars and land men on Mars by 2030. Yes, the leader of the country which, due to his incompetent socialist agenda, which has resulted in power-cuts, water shortages and food shortages befalling the oil rich country, has stated that his socialist empire where free speech is forbidden, owning anything is forbidden, and toeing the party line is a must, has decided that despite all the problems which plague the country, the people must have a goal to strive for.

Personally, I think most Venezuelans would like to see food on the table, water in the taps and 24 hour electricity before spending lots of money on a project which will benefit them not one jot. But hey, that's dictatorships for you.
