Two persons including a woman and militant were killed when
a militant opened firing on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Policemen
and civilians inside State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) bus during a
checking by the CRPF in the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Kud area of
Udhampur District on June 13, reports Daily Excelsior. Two other civilians
including were injured in the incident. The slain militant has been identified
as Tahir Ahmad Sultan and the woman, who succumbed to her injuries, has been
identified as Mamata Thapa. One AK-47 rifle, one pistol and 80 rounds were
recovered from the spot.
