(SLÊMANÎ) With the inability of Iraqi government to shift the ISIS forces inside the country, it appears that the Shia government has asked Iran to start sending troops over to help them out. (Hey, I'm not saying it's wrong.) Anyway, 200 heavily armed elite forces landed at Sulaimaniyah International Airport this week, before deploying to Kirkuk to defend Shi’a shrines from radical Sunni militants.
Whilst that sounds about right, it also allows Iraq to place a large amount of troops in the right place to start to take back land from the Kurds who advanced and secured Kirkuk when the Iraqi regular army, which whilst vastly outnumbering ISIS by at least 10 to 1, decided that fighting men wasn't for them. (Women, children, the sick, lame and lazy are OK to fight for most Muslims, but people who shoot back?)
