23 terrorists,17 soldiers and 16 civilians killed in and around Baghdad

(Iraq) A series of gun battles and bomb attacks in and around Baghdad on Friday saw 56 people killed.

In the town of in Jurf Al Sakhr (just south of Baghdad), seventeen soldiers were killed and three wounded during a two hour battle with Sunni terrorists who lost 23 of their own.

Meanwhile in the capital, a number of car bombs killed 16 and wounded 44 people.
