US deploys F-22 stealth fighters 200 miles away from Iran

(UAE) The USAF has deployed several F-22 (Raptor) fighter jets to the Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.

While the media will point to this as another step in the direction of attacking Iran, the fact remains that the F-22 is a fighter with a very small payload bay and that the ubiquitous F-16 can take out every aircraft fielded by Iran (never mind the F-15/F-18).

So what is Obama doing by sending the best fighter jets in the world over to the Gulf?

I believe there are two main reasons for deploying the F22 against Iran:
1. Test it under real combat conditions
2. The iranians do have pretty good AAA
