Libyan soldiers, kicked out of UK for rape, seek asylum

(England) In an attempt to be seeing doing the right thing, the British Government decided last year to train the new Libyan army in disused barracks here in the UK. Which is why in June this year 300 Libyans arrived at Bassingbourn Barracks, Cambridgeshire. The Government stated to worried locals (well, Muslims have got a bad name for sexual offences in the UK) that the troops would be consigned to Barracks (except for controlled visits), and they had nothing to worry about. Well, there was a near riot during the summer when the guard jailed a couple of Libyans who walked off the camp without permission, and they decided to mass outside the guardroom looking to free their poor innocent brothers by force, until the guard commander decided that releasing the jailed men would be the best thing to do in which to defuse the situation. After that, the government decided that turning a blind eye towards these trainees going into Cambridge was the best thing. Well, that mindset kind of backfired when it transpired that 3 Libyans (20-year-old Naji El Maarfi, 27-year-old Mohammed Abdalsalam and 18-year-old Khaled El Azibi) appeared at Cambridge Magistrates' Court last week on charges of raping women in Cambridge. This was followed today when 2 more (33-year-old Moktar Ali Saad Mahmoud and 22-year-old Ibrahim Abogutila) were charged with raping a man last night (Nov 3rd).

Because of the above, the British Government has decided to send home early the current tranche of trainees. However, that hasn't prevent 5 of them requesting asylum in the UK. Let's see, 5 on charges of sexual assault, 5 demanding asylum. Knowing this country, I bet they get the right to remain in the country.
