Muslims inflate the number of anti-Muslim crimes in order to silence critics.
(WJD) According to FBI statistics, one of the U.S. media's most sacred articles of faith is a lie. Contrary to the media's portrayal of America as a hotbed of anti-Muslim hatred and violence, hate crimes against Muslims are less frequent than attacks on African-Americans, homosexuals, Jews, and Hispanics.
In other words, Muslims appear to be one of the least-hated and least-brutalized minorities in America.
According to David J. Rusin at National Review, hate crimes against non-Muslim minorities far outweigh those against Muslims in both absolute and proportional terms. In fact, proportionately the most victimized group is American Jews, who are violently hated by many Muslims.
Rusin presents the numbers to prove it. Over the last decade, he writes, the FBI claims
There were 1,388 incidents against Muslims during this span, compared with 25,130 against blacks; 12,030 against homosexuals and bisexuals; 9,198 against Jews; and 5,057 against Hispanics. Even majority whites endured 7,185 incidents, while Christians (Protestants and Catholics combined) were targeted in 1,126 incidents. Adherents of “other religions” faced 1,335, very close to the anti-Muslim tally.Proportionately, the numbers are even more decisive:
Of the five main minority groups discussed above, Jews were most likely to experience hate crimes, with 14.8 incidents per 100,000 Jews annually. Homosexuals and bisexuals (combined) came next (11.5), followed by blacks (6.7), Muslims (6.0), and Hispanics (1.1). Rates for majority whites and Christians were much smaller. It seems clear that the media myth not only vastly overstates anti-Muslim sentiment in the U.S., but also vastly understates the extent of anti-Jewish violence.
